The great contry music troubador Ernest Tubb sang about a 'Waltz Across Texas', probably because he couldn't join the Hot Rod Tour of Texas! Set for the end of April 2022, this three day event is just what it sounds like - a bunch of hot rodder, muscle cars, and just about anything else will join forces on a drive around Texas. There has been a lot said about ICE and EV efficiency and cost comparisons. Generally, it is based on the cost of gasoline vs electricity and not the real world cost of owning either or both types of vehicles. Enter Anderson Economic Group. We are joined by Patrick Anderson who is sharing some insiteful real world information. Some of this is based on 'reports/research' but a lot of it is based on real experience as Patrick is an EV owner. On an EV, the cost of the electricty is a given, but that too can fluctuate seasonally and regionally. What about taxes? On going maintenance cost? What is it like to call AAA for an EV instead of an ICE vehicle. Using three different test cases there are some interesting findings, including the 'time' value of how much time is spent 'fueling and then you can consider the value of your 'time'. Almost every automotive enthusiest looks forward to seeing what is the newest product coming out of Detroit. It is always great a local young man that is persuing his dreams to do good. The automotive race car driver world is super competitive, after all, who among us has not thought themseves a race car driver at one time or another? Factor in those with a little money to chase a dream and there you have it. Like most athletes, gott'a start young and stick with it for enough yeats to get good and hope for a break. Alec Udell followed that path, starting young, and sticking with it while earning a college degree so he could try to be a little smarter in managing his career. In the case of automotive, they often have 'secret buyers' that actual go out and buy the vehciles they will be doing long term research on. Generally it is the high volumn models as that is what consumers would appear to be buying. Now this is the Specialty Equipment Manufacture Association, which translates into the automotive aftermarket show.
